Recommended Storage Practices
Biofire recommends keeping the Smart Gun plugged in to power when not in use to maintain battery charge and support system readiness.
Docked and Charging
- Connect the Smart Gun to the Dock and leave the Dock plugged in to wall power
- The Dock maintains a full charge while keeping the system ready to operate
- The included 6-foot cable allows for flexible placement and the Smart Gun can be stored out of sight (e.g., in a drawer or behind furniture) while the Dock remains visible and powered
- Supports software updates and maintenance visibility
Direct Wall Charging
- Disconnect the data cable from the Dock and plug the cable into the wall adapter to charge Smart Gun directly
- Direct wall charing is ideal if Dock placement is inconvenient, for minimalist setups, when traveling or using temporary storage locations
Long-Term Storage
Remove the battery to preserve battery life if the Smart Gun will be stored for long periods without expecting use (for example at a part-time residence). Before disassembly, verify that the battery is fully charged or confirm the current state of charge.
