The Biofire Smart Gun is designed for one primary owner to control the system, with the ability to approve multiple trusted individuals for access. User management provides the owner with administrative control while allowing additional authorized users to operate the Smart Gun.
Please refer to page 51 of your Product Manual for more information on user management.
Smart Gun Owner
The Smart Gun will arrive without an owner and has no enrolled users. The enrollment process is required before the Smart Gun becomes operational.
Enrollment upon receiving the Smart Gun is crucial. Please email Biofire customer support at [email protected] if there are issues that prevent the intended owner from enrollment, and do not proceed with enrolling a user that is not intended to be the owner. Please refer to the Smart Gun Enrollment article for instructions on how to complete enrollment.
Enroll as the owner when you first set up your Smart Gun. The owner has complete control over the Smart Gun's security and system level settings.
Only the owner can:
- Add or remove users
- View and install Smart Gun software updates
- Factory reset the Smart Gun
- View maintenance records
Secondary Users
The Smart Gun supports up to five active enrolled users, including the owner, to accommodate households where multiple people may need access as secondary users.
The only accessible settings available to additional users are their Personal Settings. These allow each authorized user to customize their individual preferences for the Smart Gun's indicator behavior, laser sight auto-on functionality, and accessory button assignments (left and right buttons). These settings apply when that specific user authenticates and operates the Smart Gun, allowing each authorized user to configure personal preferences without affecting other users' settings.
Secondary users can:
- Authenticate and arm the Smart Gun
- Customize rear indicator settings (enable/disable rear indicator light)
- Enable or disable laser sight auto-on functionality
- Assign accessory controls to left and right buttons
Control Over Adding Users
Owner approval is required for each new authorized user's enrollment, with their authentication needed at both the beginning and end of the process. This ensures that no one can enroll themselves or others without the owner's knowledge and approval.
Please refer to the Enrolling Secondary Users article for more information.
