I’m Kai Kloepfer, Founder and CEO of Biofire. Since we launched the Biofire Smart Gun a few weeks ago, folks have been asking where we stand on mandates for Smart Guns, and I’d like to directly address that with you today.

As a company, we are relentlessly focused on creating technology that solves real problems for our customers. We believe in safety, reliability, and the power of innovative technology to save lives.

What we don’t believe in are government mandates for this or any other firearm technology. Mandates stifle innovation in safety technology like what we build here, and most importantly they prevent gun owners like you and me from choosing the right firearm for the right situation.

That’s why Biofire is and always will be against mandates that restrict your right to choose the firearm that’s right for you. Even if that mandate seems to favor Biofire as a business, if it isn’t right for everyone, it isn’t right for us.

I’ve fought against these policies my whole career, and always will. Right now, Biofire is actively engaging in multiple states to ensure restrictive policies don’t limit your right to choose.

Thanks to the work of our world-class engineering team, right here in this lab, I’m proud to say that we’ve built what we consider to be the world’s best home defense handgun, one that thousands of Americans have already placed preorders to be among the first to own.

You might not agree - you may never choose to own our product - and that’s OK with us, in fact that’s the whole point.

No one firearm is right for every owner or every use case, and only you can decide what home defense solution is right for your unique situation. The Biofire Smart Gun is an option, not a replacement for all handguns.
