ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Software Engineer at Biofire, you will be responsible for building software for high-reliability, safety-critical products. To succeed in this role, you should be a skilled software engineering generalist who likes working on various projects, self-driven, obsessed with details, and comfortable operating in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
You will need to be able to develop high-quality, highly-reliable software while contributing to architecture and problem-solving as a member of the Software team. Delivering on defined requirements will be a vital part of your role, but you will also be expected to bring a passion for solving novel problems, proactively engaging with your colleagues across engineering to drive to the very best solution and rigorously pressure test the status quo.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include:
Responsible for creating and upholding excellence across engineering standards, design, review processes, and testing across all aspects of the team's work;
Will be comfortable working with a variety of languages, frameworks and levels of abstraction from embedded to high level application development;
Creating coding standards and unit testing;
Configuration management;
Deploy software tools, processes and metrics;

Strong understanding of programming fundamentals;
Proficiency in various languages such as Java, Kotlin or C/C++;
Proficiency in TypeScript
Experience with Agile Methodologies;
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices to help streamline the software development process and ensure high code quality.

The compensation range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000/annual salary + stock options + benefits.
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
LOCATION
This is a full-time, salaried role. Our dog-friendly, state-of-the-art headquarters is located in beautiful Broomfield, Colorado, between Boulder and Denver. The team regularly engages in collaborative in-person sessions at our vibrant office space, but you will be offered the flexibility to work from home as needed.
